In 2014 a group of young people realized how difficult it was to access economic opportunities without the appropriate credentials and work experience. This led them to embark on a mission to ensure that youth are able to leverage mobile technology to keep track of informal credentials by completing work, tasks or non-traditional skills programmes in their local communities. The Zlto team launched a public beta mobile platform in 2016 that has increased and tracked positive behavior of more than 25,000 youth.
During the first quarter of 2018 Zlto introduced a real-time data dashboard that supports organisations and companies seeking a way of tracking the positive behavior of their own users. This mechanism for rewarding microtasks has proven successful in garnering support from clients and partners including the UN, Naspers Labs, Google, and many other foundations.
Our users are incentivized with zlto for their positive behavior. They earn zlto through volunteering, training, health and wellbeing, entrepreneurship, clean-up and other positive citizenship activities.
