We’re taking 1 000 young people to be part of a Learn to Earn journey accross South Africa. The youth will participate in structured learning journeys in Tech, Green Economy, and Micro Entrepreneurship.
They can earn up to R750 in Zlto monthly as an alternative to the Social Relief Grants by completing courses and tasks.
The Zlto earned are redeemable for essentials like Airtime, Data, Electricity, Groceries, Clothing, Transportation, Food and more.
200 unemployed youth are recruited to participate in a curated Learn to Earn skills development program implemented by Zlto.
The learning journey has been curated specifically for this cohort which will enable them to meet the criteria for onboarding onto further earning opportunities offered by the youth agencies in the market.
Youth will need to complete training modules and linked actionable activities, which are documented, uploaded and verified on the Zlto platform.
Through the successful completion of the training modules and the related activities will youth earn Zlto(rewards) which has been curated to ensure youth earn a minimum of R350 and up to a maximum of R750 per month.
This earning opportunities are developed to test the viability of youth being incentivised to learn and earn higher than the R350 Social Relief of Distress Grant
Zlto rewards that is earned by youth is ring-fenced for redemption from Zlto vendors for essentials like Airtime, Data, Electricity, Groceries, Clothing, Transportation, Food and more
Research is demonstrating that youth are using SRD grants, NSFAS student stipends etc to contribute to their household food Needs.
This opportunity will not only allow youth to access valuable skilling opportunities, but become co-contributors to their households, as well as have access to further earning opportunities, relieving their need for a SRD Grant.
